Siam Winery Introduces Hua Hin Hills Vineyard
Siam Winery is opening the doors to its Hua Hin Hills Vineyard, the first vineyard in Prachuab Kiri Khan Province, and the home of Monsoon Valley Wines. Visitors are invited to experience the exciting lifestyle of New Latitude Wines and will be able to learn about tropical viticulture from Siam Winery’s professional team.
After a successful trial at the nearby Royal Research Station at Huay Sai, Siam Winery decided to plant and began to expand its own vineyard on a former elephant corral in 2004. Surrounded by magnificent mountains and spread over a thousand rai, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean-like breeze and produces many of Siam Winery’s excellent range of grapes, a guarantee of future award-winning wines as well as other grape-based products.
Mr. Chalerm Yoovidhya, Managing Director of Siam Winery proudly states, “Hua Hin Hills is part of Siam Winery’s vision to bring wine culture to Thailand. We are proud to show visitors where the grapes from our award winning Monsoon Valley Wines are grown. Our vineyard is truly an eye opener, and shows that quality grape growing is possible in Thailand’s tropical climate. We are very pleased to offer the already popular seaside destination with another attraction.”
The Sala, designed by a former Norman Foster architect Mrs. Sylvia Soh, has enriched the vineyard since 2008. Not only does the Sala contain a bistro with a famous vineyard inspired menu and a wine bar offering wide arrays of premium wine by Siam Winery. A retail shop at The Sala enables visitors to shop for their favorites labels of premium Thai wines, souvenirs and other quality grape-based products such as the refreshing grape juices, grape essence, cookies, etc. with professional staff on hand to provide information.
The opportunities offered to vineyard visitors are seemingly endless. There, visitors can experience the exciting lifestyle of New Latitude Wines. After roaming through the rows of grape vines on foot, on bicycle, guests will enjoy a delectable “Thai and International Bistronomy” the Sala Wine Bar and Bistro which includes a set-course or wide array of à la carte choices wondrously crafted by a star chef in a “modern wine country style”. Siam Winery’s premium wines have also been selected to complement the food, made from the freshest local ingredients or the vegetables from the vineyard’s very own market farm.
At the market farm, visitors can wander around the plantation side where a wide array of local vegetables and fruits are grown. Nearby the market farm area, the petanque field is also available as a complimentary activity for guests.
For art-lovers, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard recently introduced a brand new activity offering visitors a chance to express their artistic skills by designing and painting their own unique wine label – the only one in the world! Visitors can take the finished bottle back as a souvenir, to remind them of all the happy moments at Hua Hin Hills Vineyard, or give it to their loved ones as a gift. The painting set includes: one mock-up bottle, one sticker label, two paint brushes, one paint palette, and a set of water based paint, and is priced at THB 300 per set.
Every March to early April each year, it’s the time to celebrate the annual harvest season! Guest and wine-lovers are invited to experience the beauty of the mountainous vineyard together with fine wines and superb cuisine combined with special activities. You can hop on a jeep or take a short walk to the vineyard where you can select and pick the fresh ripen grapes right from the grapevines, so you can have a glimpse of what being a farmer is like!
